FEBRUARY



~ The Divine Feminine ~
Artist: Karla Delaney

This exhibit holds an empowering space for all. A collaboration of four local female Photographers, an Artist and eleven other Bold and Beautiful Women from our community push their comfort level and limitations, breaking free of female stigma and step into their personal power. Local Artist Karla Delaney created her first series of "Goddess" paintings and was inspired to bring her creations to life through photography and models that resemble the Artwork. What you will see at this exhibit includes; Thirty three pieces of artwork that show free expressions of the female body, mind and spirit through creativity, diversity and mythology. Multiple aspects of the divine feminine and empowerment to embrace and love the skin you are in.

An opening reception will be held February 4th 1 4pm

ANN CLOW PHOTOGRAPHY

Clow’s first job as a photographer was in 2007 when she worked for Life Touch Photography taking school photos. Photography is a wonderful and creative outlet in which Clow captures “moments in time”  for weddings, different local events, non profit organizations such as the Big Bike Race of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and in past, theatre performances at Th' YARC .  Her photographs have been published in 2003 Heritage House of Nova Scotia, local newspapers and won photo various contests. Companies, such as Staples Store in Yarmouth used her photos for promotional events.
Clow was the photographer for Yarmouth and Acadien Shores Tourism Magazine 2010 edition.
Her photo was “Rock Crab”  selected to be in the Canadian Wildlife Federation 2014 Calendar. 
Her photo “Big Wave”  was chosen both for the “2017 Yarmouth Hospital Foundation Calender”  as well as  the juried exhibition. “Take Your Best Shot”   at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (Western Branch) As a visual artist for almost 40 years, photography has been a powerful influence on Clow’s art, used as a guide to  create her paintings and soon she found herself picking up the camera more often then her paint brushes.
Clow grew up  in Yarmouth, and lived in PEI, Halifax, Dartmouth and beautiful British Columbia,
During the summer months Clow had a Gallery downtown Main Street in Yarmouth. and at the    
Waterfront Gallery in Yarmouth and group shows at The Nova Scotia Art Gallery,( Western Branch)
In 2014 Clow was presented with a certificate ( resolution) from The Members of The House Of Assembly, moved by Zach Churchill MLA Yarmouth , that acknowledge Clows’ contribution to the creative  community and Nova Scotia.
Clow was a photographer for “Dreams Take Flight” which is a national volunteer charitable organization dedicated to providing a trip of a lifetime to special children to Disney World.
Clow feels that in return for the gifts that has been bestowed on her, she donates a percentage of her sales to the local food bank.

ANN CLOW PAINTING
Island Park Shelburne
Clow has been painting professionally for almost 40 years growing up in Yarmouth but residing in BC  PEI, Halifax and Dartmouth. She has  exhibited her art work at Church Street Gallery in Sligo Ireland, Waterfront Gallery,  in Yarmouth, Coal Wynd Gallery in Halifax and The Craig Gallery at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth., Cordelia’s Artisan Boutique and Off the Batt Pottery in Borden, both on Prince Edward Island.
During many summer, Clow had a Studio Gallery on downtown Main Street in Yarmouth also Exhibits at the Th'YARC, and  also  helped with painting backdrops for performances. She enjoys creating murals for corporate clients and French Acadien groups. 
In 2005 Clow was honoured by having her artwork exhibited at Government House in Halifax, NS,
at the request of Myra A. Freeman (former Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia), where the artist was also awarded a certificate for her contribution to the visual arts community, then again in 2014 Clow was presented with a resolution of  The Members of The House Of Assembly, moved by Zach Churchill MLA Yarmouth.
Clow had a exhibit for two months at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives. It featured the artistic talents of her family members dating from the 1920’s to the present entitled “Family Genes”
Clow volunteered for the Autism Arts Program given by The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Western Branch, and for the March Break Autism Arts Camp. She participated in the “Maud Lewis Maudified  House Project and “Painting Doors” to  raise funds for the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.  At the Yarmouth Killiam Library she  took part in an event which she was giving art demonstrations and discussions.
Clow was the art instructor of the Nova Star Cruise Line  that sailed from Yarmouth to Portland, Maine.  She travelled throughout Nova Scotia giving Sip and Paint classes and  offering  more traditional evening art classes  in Yarmouth Clow was the artist chosen to create a piece as a  fundraiser for “Dreams Take Flight,” which is a national volunteer charitable organization dedicated to providing a trip of a lifetime to special children to Disney World.
